A reliable supplement for dairy cows
Ketosis is a common metabolic disorder in dairy cows, typically occurring in the pre- and post-calving period. It arises from low blood glucose levels in early lactation and the mobilization of fat tissue to generate energy during negative energy balance. This condition can have a major economic impact by reducing milk yield throughout lactation.
Preventing ketosis requires strategies to optimize glucose availability in the cow’s system:
- Rumen-undegraded starch: Incorporate grains like maize, which bypass the rumen and provide glucose precursors in the intestine.
- Glucose-promoting feed additives: Include ingredients that are not fermented in the rumen but are rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream and efficiently converted to glucose in the liver. One example being NEUBALAC Dry, which contains glycol in a stable dry form.

Green line – group without NEUBALAC Dry (control)
Red line – group received 350 g/d./h of NEUBALAC Dry
Blue line – group received 500 g/d./h of NEUBALAC Dry
Continuous line – glucose concentration
Breaking line – ketones body concentration
